FAITH.
When faith is an angel
I will believe
And when love is honesty
I will be reprieved.
Tragic is the former smile
The pain that grips my lips
On better days they do relax
And taste the wine, sycophancy.
But time is the deceiver
And this lethargy its soldier
Killing slowly and any way it can
What do I need to believe?
If faith is an angel
She is a hag
If love is honesty
We have been deceived.
I am not the deceiver, you waited for
Kiss the believer unready to believe.
Marshalling thoughts I have
Behind mild staring eyes
Coming out from behind
Is more than I can stand.
So watching and waiting
For the belief to be angelic
I cry a heartache full of fear
Of unrepenting disbelief.
If belief is a godsend
I’d rather not know
If this world is the answer
I’m ready to let go.
Caught in the trap
I set for myself
Exacting standards
Always let you down.
Now time is the judge
I cant live to lie
Not live to lie.
