REST A WHILE

There comes a time,

When feint excuse me’s,

No longer move this soul.

There comes a time,

When it will no longer be let go.

Shared time in a separate life,

Always picking up the pieces,

Of a secret never given voice.

That day becomes an icon,

A dream always to live, never to know,

Where is the hope now its lost.

In a featureless life,

A ray of joy becomes,

Like a beacon of faith, the excellence to hold.

This time shared peels like skin,

Ages to accumulate,

And seconds to deteriorate.

Its gone – the presence,

Before the lipstick dried,

Left is the emptiness,

Of another silent tear.

The face that launched a heart,

Comes and goes, to never know,

How it feels to rest a while, within the warmth of eye.

Drive on, the feeling cuts,

Don’t lose a head too soon,

The emotion cuts to heal.

Its worth waiting for,

Despite the turmoil shown,

There is a chance – don’t lose it,

Where there’s hope – there’s life.
